The Mathew Street FestivalThe Mathew Street Festival
Hello Major Major fans of all kinds! Whether you be Major Majorian, Glitter Girl or Major-ette, I am writing to inform you that Major Major are celebrating this years Mathew Street Festival large!!
If you don’t know anything about the Mathew Street festival then go to www.mathewstreetfestival.com . In short it is a festival based around the Mathew Street area. There are many stages on various streets with music everywhere you walk from cover bands with shit names to new local bands with often equally shit names playing at the Pier Head South Stage.
As well as the stages though are the many pubs and clubs that we all know and love and this year Major Major have decided to play not one….not one and a half….but 2 , that’s right 2 sets in the Head Of Steam pub which is attached to Lime St Station. We are playing at 7.00pm and 9.30pm on the Monday (28th August) and it’s going to be fantastic! We have many new songs, Conor has new boots and I have a new range of perfume out so come along and dance and drink the cheap booze that this place has to offer!!
Now I said Major Major where having it large, well...on Saturday (26th) and Sunday (27th), me and Conor will be going busking around town playing many busking classics and also stripped down intimate versions of all your favourite Major Major songs! If you are out and about and you don’t fancy seeing another Beatles cover band from Cuba then wander the streets, we should be wandering between Mathew Street, Williamson Square, Church Street(by Schu and Zara) and also very possibly down by the Pier Head South Stage!
We would love you all to be apart of this ace weekend of music with us, so we hope to see you all down at our gig and out and about on the streets watching us. We love the attention!

Good stuuf!I have to say I really enjoyed today's set. In addition I think all 6 of my family members I dragged along with me may now be fans!! One comment I must share with you though was made by my sister. As Connor was busy setting up she said, " Does he swing both ways?"
No obviously if this is the case then fine... no problem to me. It did make me chuckle though!
Again though.... great set lads.

It was truly an excellent gig, definitely one of your best if not the best or even the bestest, the audience and songs were so good I had to make myself sick to even out the good/shit balance of the universe

The busking was great. At one point we had a crowd of about 30 people watching us. It was more like a proper gig than busking. We played Back in the USSR and everyone loved it.
The bit almost as good as when i stuck my head up Caroline Quentin's chocolate covered minge cave for me was when we played Ever Such a Gentleman and some guy started doing back flips and somersaults. Imagine that!
The bit almost as good as when i stuck my head up Caroline Quentin's chocolate covered minge cave for Neil was when a passing man asked him to play Black Dog by Led Zepplin. He played it and the man gave him a quid. Neil then kissed this man.
Over all, we had a good time and made loads of new fans

It was a great gig, the sets worked very well and the cover of Voodoo 7:2 was class. Liked it when you were both singing it. Bravo!

The duet with Ivan worked very well, and we only thought of it on the spot

Did the man look like Matt Lucas? That would be an ironic twist of fate and tedium
