Its comin up 2 about a year of this website now and hence a year since the beginning of major major!!

Remember when u all hated the name, including me actually!! remember the arguements over band names etc!!

we just said names from loads of diferent stuff (books, tv shows, films, songs) an when someone said a name that we liked we said

'i like that'

an major major was the one we liked the most. we thought we should cut it down from major major major mjaor though cos that would just be emo.

I liked the name as soon as I heard it, Neil Liked "Pepper's Ghost" and "High Speed". But i think we ended up with the best name

And it worked for Duran Duran!

Catch 22 has to be my favourite book of all time, its simply excellent although I can understand if you had to study it in detail the fun was probably sucked out of it by the teachers

it was in a way, and being forced to read a book that ends up being as complicated as catch 22 was a bit off putting. but in hindsight its a very good book. deffo the best one we had to read.

It's a great book but yeah, it's totally different to read it for pleasure than to be forced to read and analyse it in depth. Damn schools! They ruined 1984 and Brave New World for me.

I liked 1984 as I read it in my own time. I havn't read catch 23 but will probably have too sooner or later

the oxford english dictionary is a good read. the twist in the end is amazin. i dont want to ruin it for you but it was zoom.

Yeah I enjoyed 1984 on holiday and I love that book. Catch 22 is still the best book I've read though because it's hilarious and has about nine billion characters (may not be true)

Apart from that I'm not much of a reader, I don't even read these posts half the time

i really liked about a boy, the film wasn't very good though.

Major Major at first sounded really crap and pompous, not anymore the vagrants was a crap name when you think about it none of you had stubble, a bottle of wine or even a cardboard box.

I seriously cannot remember disliking the name Major Major now, I can remember hearing myself show disgust for it but now I have totally got used to it and I don't cringe whenever I say it

I only looked at this thread because I'm re-re-re-re-reading Catch 22 and I have just passed Major Major Major Major's chapter, for anyone who hasn't read it the character was called Major Major Major by his dad and this confused the Army computer which automatically promoted him to Major, he's a very sad character who is nowhere near as cool as his name or his namesake band

we actually were oficially given the name by the major major that played t in the parc a couple of years ago.
