They are all great but I had to go for Espadrilles its just great (the bass line is the best thing james has written i reckon)... I pushed it into the lead! Woo!

We didn't have a name for one of the songs we were planning to play. It only has two chords (Bb and Eb or Capo 6 E and A). It sounded like the end of Rooftop by the stereophonics. Here are the lyrics It started off as a simple question One that is easy if you went to the lesson But that's not my style I told you I misunderstood what she said Just go straight on down the high street You'll come to a junction where you'll find this road meets Another one called Taggart Avenue Just go left from there Oh Shit, Oh Shit, I just remembered I gave her the wrong directions I sent her off on wild Goose Chase I hope she doesn't get killed. Not surprisingly we don't play it anymore, It is one of the lost Major Major tracks. |

I really like the opening bit of Pop Song and I thought it was totally original but then I heard "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and I realise the first two notes sound the same, bastards

Eeeyakatitititikaah was a decent song as I recall. Wasn't really a fan of Art School (lyrics were good though) or Overpaid so I don't miss them so much. Music To Go and The Home were both brilliant songs though, they should be back in the setlist if you ever get a gig long enough to include some older songs. I think the Garage gig setlist was spot on, I forget exactly which songs you played but ending with Espadrilles worked really well.
Funny really, listening to the EP I've only just worked out the lyrics to Cheer Up Charlie and Popsong and they're ace. So now I like all the songs on the EP. Maximum enjoyment for your listening pleasure! |

hahaha yer I hate it when that happens - I always thought the "Where's the logic in that" part of car crashes was something along the lines of "Where's the love in..." something so when I heard it on the EP i was amazed by how good the lyrics actually were (are). |

I'm hoping to start a society down here. It will be the Doan Appreciation Society, whose sole function is to appreciate Doan (Essex girl - it explains a lot) and, when she's not around, swap hilarious anecdotes of her various gaffes and social faux-pas. Current favourite is: "My history teacher told me Hitler had a testicle in his neck". Yes. The future of Britain. The cream of UK undergraduates. Oh God.
The Major Major Soc is a great idea although I suspect membership would be limited. Ideally you want to join an Indie Music Society and say stuff like "hey have you heard that band Major Major? Even though I don't even know them their stuff is more top class than a gigantic top hat filled with peers of the realm!" thus creating a myth of greatness around them. It is the only way. |
